Chung-Mu

충무

 

 

Meaning: Chung Mu was the title given to the great Admiral Yi Soon-Sin of the Lee Dynasty. He was reputed to have invented the first armored battleship in 1592, which is thought to be the precursor to the present day submarine.

周氏

Meaning: Shushi is thought to be named for the Chinese martial artist and instructor to Sakugawa Kanga, the father of modern Karate and master of Okinawan Kobudo.

 

Junbi: From Closed Bowing Position, switch bo to Closed Ready Stance. Left hand drops to left side. Left foot steps out into Parallel Ready Stance. Shift to the left, bring right hand up to belt level. Left hand grips bo at forehead level.
