The New Kyuki-Do Handbooks are in!!  You can purchase one from you Instructor for $45.  It has all the forms up to black belt and talks about many different aspects of Kyuki-Do.  It is worth getting.

Remember, Black Belt is the real beginning for your training.  1st Dan Black Belt is a master of the basic techniques.  It is like graduating from High School... what you do with your degree from there and how far you go in your education is up to you.  Don't stop at just 1st Dan - in fact don't ever stop being a student of martial arts and life.  Get as much education as you can.

For DIRECTIONS to EACH STUDIO:   Refer to the "Contact Us" section of this website for directions to each studio.

Remember, when you are ready to test, your instructor will ask you to test.  It is not proper for a student to ask the instructor to test.  Set your goals and work hard.  NOW is the best time to really get serious with your training.  Enjoy the Journey.  Master West cannot reach into his pockets and hand you his techniques... That is something that you have to develop for yourself.  He can teach you how to do things, but YOU must make it happen.  It starts with developing the skills by doing your forms and practicing them over and over again.  In forms you develop focus & precision, balance, positioning (stances), Ki (energy), techniques, breath control, reaction force, power, and much more.  Your forms will influence your skills in sparring, weapons, self defense, breaking, one steps, and much more.  So practice your forms at least 100 x's before you make it to the next level.  Start by checking your stances, then your body position, then your arms, then your focus and locking into that position.  Look before you turn and then go into the next position.

You can become a great Black Belt if you detail your techniques and work for it, as well as develop the proper Martial Arts Attitude.  For some people it is easier than others.  Everyone has their own strengths.  Remember, those who persevere will reach their goals.  Keep with it.
